Sylwia Jakubowska was born on 17th of February 1992 in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland. She graduated at the Graphics and Painting Department of the Strzemiński’s Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland in September 2017 with the Rector’s honors.

She specializes in various printmaking techniques, painting, drawing, graphic design and zines. Participant of numerous courses, open air workshops and group exhibitions. Cooperates with different institutions (e.g. Łódź Design Festival, Se-ma-for) running workshops, mainly for children.

Participated in symposiums: 2nd International Symposium of Universities and Art Faculties „Authenticity in the Art?” Szymbark, Poland, where she was awarded honourable mention (2013) and International Printmaking Symposium at the International Centre for Artistic Engraving KAUS in Urbino in Italy (2015). In August 2015 she completed International Summer Course of Artistic Printmaking „Graphic Art in Space” conducted by the Lithuanian professor Kestutis Vasiliunas from Vilnius Academy of Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In 2016 participated in the project „Drawing in Urbino” at the International Centre for Aristic Engraving KAUS in Urbino in Italy where made a collective art book inspired by this beautiful Italian city.

Participant of such collective exhibitions as: The Republic of the Letters, Łódź (Poland), Lisbon (Portugal), Paris (France), Auckland (New Zealand), 2017; 46th Yokosuka Peace Exhibition of Art, Kanagawa, Japan, 2015; „Wielodruk” AULA Gallery, Art University in Poznań, Poland, 2016; „Pokolenia|Łódzka Szkoła Grafiki” at the International Centre for Graphic Arts, Kraków, Poland, 2016. Participant and co-organiser of the Students’ Printmaking Review „Eksperymentarium i Goście” in 2015 and 2016 at the ASP Gallery in Łódź, Poland. In October 2017 she had her first individual exhibition „Historie naturalne” in Przestrzeń Robocza, Łódź, Poland.
