self-commentary

Neighboring societies, independently of their relations, arc usuaLly exchanging and interacting. Already in ancient times, civilizations by the Mediterranean Sea as well as river valleys were exchanging material goods, intellectual and spiritual achievements, no matter if their relations were in peace or conflict. in „Mosaic” composition I connect three ornaments: a Propylean połychromy, medieval knot, and Andalusian arabesque. Their interaction refers to blending between cultures, globalization and the functioning of social rules. The ornamental composition can be seen in many ways; my understanding can be just an entry point for further interpretations. I cut and created most of the ornaments in a way that reflects a deconstruction and fall, and not to present them in a clear and unambiguous way. I want to refer to a question of the main values of democracy and religion, which are respect and tolerance.
