My graduation work 'Subjective relations of space' is on the verge of experimental animation and video installation. The final work is the result of my own research of form and medium of expression.
For me, animation is an opportunity to establish a relation and start a discussion with the viewer. Thus, I can influence one's imagination and feelings. In my perception of the world I attach great importance to the relations with other people. The influence of one's sensibility is crucial, as well as the willingness to interact with other people and the world. The starting point for my work was the comparison of two values - masculine (tough, distinctive, rough, sharp) and feminine (delicate, gentle and light) in a nonliteral way, using texture and abstraction. I showed their relations but not only them. Relation with the viewer, who adds one's own emotional attitude to the reception of the work, appeared in space. I rejected a conventional method of projecting an image on the surface, which is typical for the cinema and used a background projection and the spatial screen-object. I decreased distance between the composition and the viewer in order to encourage people to inspect the projected reality. By limiting the space available for the viewers, I increased awareness of participation and caused a feeling of discomfort. Perception of work is disrupted by interference of other viewers-'installation participants'. I turned to the nonfigurative and non-narrative forms of presentation. I am interested in abstraction, textures, light and colours and I used made up photographs and movies. The sound that is used in animation is equally important as the image. It appears and disappears stunning the viewer.
