biography

I was born in Tychy, 9.10.1992. I am a Graphic Designer with a Masters in the specialization of Visual Communication and Graphic Arts, University of Silesia, Cieszyn, Poland. Litography and algraphy have been my passion since the beginning of the studies. I have been a member of a litography assosciation Kurant. I am also interested in painting, especially creating murals. My works were presented at about 14 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad for instance in United States of Amerika and Germany. I was on Erasmus exchange at Universidad Castilla la Mancha, Cuenca, Spain which gave me opportunity to work with different graphic media and try new methods of printing. After comeback to Poland I organised a charity auction connected with exhibitions to gain money for an ill child treatment. It was also a great honour for me to be a member of jury at International Print Trienniale in Cieszyn 2017. I would like to continue creating artworks and travelling in the future.

The diploma consists of a series of six color graphics made using lithography, algraphy or mixed media techniques. Main drawings were printed from a lithography stone or an algraphy plate. Then some elements were added using metal plates or embossed with a piece of cardboard.

These graphics depict fragments of buildings which become more and more unrealistic in the process of the modification to create a new quality in the image. I also used a method of a graphic collage drawing completely different elements taken from other realities. I collate aesthetics of fiction with brutal aesthetics of reality. This results from a need to redefine a notion of beauty which is a duty of every artist in my opinion. I use open compositions in presented works. These compositions are actually pieces of reality observed in the nearest surrounding. Therefore, I focus on the most essential elements of the image such as a structure, rhythms, contrasts, and factures. These form elements create compositions which are in fact abstract. A process takes place between the beginning and the end – this chain of changes is the most interesting for me. Unexpectedly for myself, I have discovered some regularities in my works. Namely, the regularity and the repetition of natural phenomena. They had a significant influence on a construction of rhythms in my graphics. There were no human beings inside buildings I have photographed. An exception is the work entitled "The human being in the window" in which I wanted to highlight a presence of the human. Although it is not shown directly, it can be presumed as a lyrical character.

The main reason for creating this series of graphics is to contemplatethe issues of evanescence and passing time. This is why I am fascinated with a destruction: rust, crumbling parget and old layers of paints, patterns created by fungi and microorganisms, mosses and vegetation spreading on buildings. They are signs of elapsed time but it is difficult to definitively determine whether it signifies degradation and the end or just the beginning - creation of new qualities.
