self-commentary
While working on my artistic diploma, I took up the subject of post-factory spaces, that is characterized by coldness and geometric structure. For the creation of a cycle of printmakingsQuantum inspired me observations of the environment, preference for simple things in their form, but not trivial, whose beauty must be seen, "explored." Geometry and architecture have become the main determinant of my perception.(...)
The resulting printmakings are my own interpretation, attempting to provide a personal perspective. By giving the matrices irregular shapes, through thoughtful cuts in my chosen points, I want to emphasize the details and bring out the beauty of the construction elements hung over people's heads. In this way, I also set the selected frame for each of the artwork. Through the appropriate saturation with a warm or cold tint, I emphasize the depth in the created printmakings. The whole, however, is preserved in subdued, rather cool colors. In some artworks, the "gaps" give the impression of light coming from outside, strengthening the contrast between the lines and revealing the mysterious depth of post-industrial spaces.
The leitmotif of the created printmakings became skylights, because they intrigued me. Every day they give us a light, which in turn is a symbol of eternity, some order, that separates from the darkness and take control over the chaos. It is worth considering their message. The important for me in the whole process of creating was calm and quiet, which resulted into the mood contained in the artworks presented by me.
Presented printmakings were created in the intaglio technique, etching and aquatint. However, the artistic work I also did in the lithography technique. In the artistic part, I present selected ones. The size of the metal matrices to do a large artworks of intaglio printing was 50 x 70 cm. (...) Lithographic artworks required the preparation of a stone of the right size, so that the final effect would be the artwork of a size 79 x 37 cm. Some smaller ones consist of two or three parts. Their modularity in fact allows to create different solutions, some of them have been presented. Hence the name of the whole cycle "Quantum", meaning "a certain amount" and various compositions. Some of the artworks also have other titles, which mostly refer to light - an important element in my printmakings. (...)
