biography
Kamil Kak, born in mid 90s. BA at Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (2018) in Lithography Studio (dr. Ł. Butowski’s). Few group exhibitions, ex. Trisity (2017 & 2018), III. Lithografietage International i Münchner Künstlerhaus (2018), International Lithography Triennial II Litho-Kielce (2019), Students Graphic of the Year (2017, 2018, 2019)) and some individual ones (Gdańsk 2018, Wadowice 2018, Koszalin 2018). Rector’s Sholarship for best students (2017 & 2018). He mainly works with graphic arts and photography. Inspired by failures. Afraid of horses.
FRUSTRATIONS are an attempt to bring failure to the point worth remembering. Dealing with defensive mechanisms and starting a discourse about failure. Escape from repression and rationalization of mistakes, awareness of tensions caused by cognitive dissonances. FRUSTRATIONS are focused on the contrast between traditional b-w printmaking, and the subtractive synthesis in the prints.
