self-commentary

The MA Thesis is a personal interpretation of the concepts of sexuality, body and corporeality, and the way in which they have acquired a taboo status in modern times. Inspired by the artwork and the themes of Critical Art of the 90s, the thesis investigates the extraordinary evolution of the perception of these terms, and the process through which they have become stereotypically categorized. Through this prism, the systemic discrimination against entire social groups becomes obvious, and thus contention becomes imperative. A positive change in perception and the status quo can only be instigated by provoking thought and conversation.

"Rock, paper, scissors" is a search for an appropriate formal expression for delicate or ignored topics, and social issues that I consider crucial. They demand attention and analysis because they form the reality in which we live.
